Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace,

      according to your word;

            30       for my eyes have seen your salvation

            31       that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,

            32       a light for revelation to the Gentiles,

      and for glory to your people Israel.”

Nothing makes us feel more alive than waking up way earlier than normal with the realization that it is Christmas Day! As children, it would be the only day we would willingly wake up before dawn and be up and at ‘em. It would be the last day of the year that parents could sleep in but not on your life. There is too much going on and we dare not miss it. Simeon may have been stirred from his sleep by the Holy Spirit and sprung into action because the first Christmas had come and he was invited to see the gift in the temple court. He was not concerned that there were few tomorrows. It is a feeling people want every day.

Guess what. You can. Tomorrow is December 26th. You can wake up exclaiming Messiah has come! He has risen! He has saved me! Then get up and at ‘em, telling all you know, as Anna did, about Jesus Christ who came to save the world. Let us stir people awake who don’t know what day it is, another day to celebrate the birth, death, and resurrection of our Savior and Lord. May you all have a Merry Christmas, today and tomorrow!

Dear Lord, thank you so much for Jesus! We pray that we would enjoy God with us today, tomorrow, and for eternity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
