6 Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. 8 You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.” 9 After saying this, he remained in Galilee.

People often ask why God did not create us to be perfect and love him and each other entirely. We counter that he did but Adam wrecked it. A better question is why he doesn’t destroy us. He has a better plan and sending his Son to earth was a major part of it. Jesus came with a certain mission at a certain time. As we see in John 7, at the Feast of Booths, one of the commanded festivals for Jews. His disciples thought it would be great for Jesus to put on a show for everyone and wow them with his works. He came to save and serve his chosen, not to scintillate the crowds. The disciples did not understand that the leaders would kill him before the appointed time if he went.

There is an appointed time for everything in your life, even the trial you may be going through at this time. Jesus said your time is always here to do the things of this world. So today, live your life in this time until the time comes for life with Jesus for all time.

Dear Lord, thank you that you came into time to be the perfect sacrifice at the perfect time to forgive our sins. Help us to live our lives in this time to glorify you to the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
