And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.
It is always good to get confirmation, especially when there is a question that has you in two minds. You are not sure which is the right answer and then something happens to make it an easy decision. For the Christian, that is God answering the prayer for guidance and direction. How blessed is it then that we have confirmation that we have the true word of God, spoken by God through chosen men, and available to us for the answers to every question regarding the way to a holy life and salvation! Peter was in trouble. He was about to be martyred and what’s more, he knew it. He knew the secret to joy in suffering and let his audience in on it. Pay attention to the prophetic word that says that Jesus is coming again.
When it comes to our Christian walk, when temptation comes, when a problem arises, we do not have to be in two minds as to where to turn for the answer. Like Peter and the early church, we live in a time when it is imperative that we pay attention to the prophetic word. It is no time to ignore the Bible as irrelevant and unable to address the complex issues of the 21st century. It is the perfect time to open it daily to see what God says about your troubles. When the Bright Morning Star rises, it is indeed…
A Good Morning.
