Hebrews 4:13
And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Character has been defined as what you do when no one is watching. This is not a comforting verse for those who struggle with character. When I was young, I used to pretend my hero, whoever it was at the time, could see me and I would act in such a way that it would impress him. That is truly weird and embarrassing but it strangely dictated how I acted when no one was around. Now that I am saved, I can apply the practice to my walk with the Lord. That is because he sees all we do anyway. Again, if that makes you uncomfortable, join the club and latch on to a secret. Whatever he sees, he already forgave when he died on the cross.
Come to Cape Community Church tomorrow and learn that we too can see what the Lord is up to. We will see that nothing is hidden from our sight that God wants to reveal to us through the word, the Son, and the Scriptures. We will learn how to be ready for that moment when all is laid bare, so to speak, and our actions are plain to see. We are right to be scared but the Bible tells us there is a way out. It is no secret because God has made it known. His Good News…
Is not hidden from our sight.
