Isaiah 6:1-2
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!”
Some of you may have heard your name called over the school loudspeaker to report to the principal’s office. If that is you, you probably have some idea of how it felt to be Isaiah. He may have wished he was King Uzziah! In normal times, seeing the glory and majesty of the Lord would be a beautiful sight to behold. Just imagine how amazing this sight was and the reaction it would evoke in Isaiah! The only word is awesome.
Awesome was the beginning of the church in Acts chapter 2, when they were in awe of God and his signs and wonders. They witnessed 3,000 souls saved as the result of one sermon by a fisherman, Peter. The Lord was adding to that total every day. There was a true reason to be in awe.
Today, in the midst of turmoil in society due to division and disease, let me tell you that in your young life you have every reason to still be in awe of God and his signs and wonders. There are signs and wonders today! I am one of them and so are you if you have been changed by the blood of Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit. If not, then chances are you are not in awe of anything, especially humanity. Let us not lose the awe of who God is…
Lord, Savior, and King.
God Bless,
Pastor Boyer
