9 And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” 10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.”
“Get it in writing.” That is a truism that means if you want to be safe, have a written contract because man’s word is not worth the breath it wasted. Sadly, a contract today i seldom worth the paper it is written on. How awesome it is that we have the words written by John from the Lord! How awesome it is the we are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb! Then came this last statement from the angel. “These are the true words of God.” No wonder John fell in worship!
Have you ever been so overcome that you forgot yourself and cried Hallelujah? I hope so. That is what John did as his reaction to these great and awesome truths. We know these same things for ourselves! These have been written that we may be sure that the Bridegroom is coming and we are his guests. And most of all, the Bible is the word of God. we have every reason to believe it and when man does not, an archaeological find once again buries the undertakers. Today, do not be afraid to fall down in worship, not of the messenger, but of the author of the message, Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom. Worship God and get ready for the wedding banquet and sit…
At his feet.
