Glory in his holy name;

      let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

            4       Seek the LORD and his strength;

      seek his presence continually!

            5       Remember the wondrous works that he has done,

      his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,

            6       O offspring of Abraham, his servant,

      children of Jacob, his chosen ones!

Depending on what is going on, even in a Christian’s life, some days it is hard to get out of bed because the future does not look promising. We have peaks, where it is easy to see the Lord’s presence and we rejoice, and we have valleys. In the valley, the best direction to look is up. Here is a three step escalator out of the valley from the psalmist. Glory in the Lord. He has given us another day, another breath that we do not deserve. Seek his face. Finally, remember what he has done, in Israel’s case, redeeming them from slavery in Egypt and giving them the promised land.

That is a good plan for us today. May we glory in his holy name, for no other reason than that he created us and sustains us. If things are not to your liking today, pray to him. Seek him so his presence and strength will always be in your mind as you go through trying times. Finally, remember the days when you were truly walking alone in the valley with nowhere to turn. Rejoice as his chosen one today because you are a child of God. Glory, seek, and remember the Lord today. He will return the favor!

Dear Lord, thank you for your continuous presence in our lives. May we see you and hear you as you see and hear us at all times. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
