You rule the raging of the sea;
when its waves rise, you still them.
10 You crushed Rahab like a carcass;
you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

the world and all that is in it, you have founded them.
12 The north and the south, you have created them;
Tabor and Hermon joyously praise your name.
13 You have a mighty arm;
strong is your hand, high your right hand.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.
When meeting a celebrity, we are often astounded when we find them approachable and polite. It is as if we expect them to have superpowers when they are just ordinary people. God the Father, the Godhead, the person of the Trinity that sent the Son and the Holy Spirit, is the Ultimate Celebrity. He is sovereign over his creation. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills.
Come to Cape Community Church tomorrow as we learn that, while he is most powerful, he is also most merciful. We can approach him, as insignificant as we feel, and cry out to him because of his steadfast love and faithfulness. He has promised that he would never leave us nor forsake us because it was sealed in a covenant. His covenant with David means that Jesus will reign forever. His covenant with us means that we are in communion with him and can sit at the King’s table. Come and approach the throne of Almighty God tomorrow!
Dear Lord, thank you that you are sovereign and just but thank you especially for your steadfast love, no matter what we do. May it drive our worship tomorrow. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
