Revelation 20:11-12

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

When I hear celebrities on TV or people on the street say they are going to give God a piece of their minds when they see him for the state of the world, I shake my head in sadness. They will do no such thing, according to John. I wonder what John thought as he wrote these words from his vision, that earth and sky will flee from the great white throne. It is incomprehensible to our finite minds but it suffices to say that there will be no rebuking from the gallery. That is reserved for the Judge when the books are opened.

Like the above mentioned people, many Christians are just as guilty of making God too small, as if they have that power. They would do well to read the end of Revelation and see that we will have one response at this moment. We will bow and call him Lord. Why not start now? We meet on Zoom to speak to God before the throne. We bow our hearts and worship him in prayer. We often say that it is a great way to start a day before the end of days.

Dear Lord, thank you that we will see you on that day in your incomprehensible glory. Help us to worship you truly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
