Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name;

      make known his deeds among the peoples!

            2       Sing to him, sing praises to him;

      tell of all his wondrous works!

            3       Glory in his holy name;

      let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

            4       Seek the LORD and his strength;

      seek his presence continually!

            5       Remember the wondrous works that he has done,

      his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,

            6       O offspring of Abraham, his servant,

      children of Jacob, his chosen ones!

Last night, we held our Thanksgiving Eve service at Cape Community Church. It is my favorite service of the year, not only because I do not have to do all the talking, but because our people do most of the talking. They talk glowingly about what the Lord has done in their lives in the past year or the past 24 hours and, in one case, that day! It is a blessed time of fellowship and praise; all on Zoom!

The testimonies sounded like the psalm above. The Lord’s deeds deserve our praise and glory. We rejoice in the presence of the Lord. Today, may we remember what he has done, not only in the past day, but in the beginning, creating us, and on the cross, dying for us. Thank him that he has chosen us and raised us from the dead of sin and raised us to newness of life. Then, thank him even more for his continued presence.

Dear Lord, thank you for this special day of Thanksgiving. May we thank you again tomorrow and the next day, until you come again. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
