And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”
34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”
I am constantly amazed at how much is done here at Cape Community Church by so few. It seems every person here is involved in ministry and I appreciate the rarity of that fact. I suspect the reason for this is that they simply love God because he first loved us by sending Jesus to the manger and the cross. They do not ask how something can be done. They do it. Of course, all of us sometimes wonder if it can be done. Mary was no different. She got a visit. From an angel! She was told what God WILL do in her life and how she will bear a Son. Her reply was to doubt the possibility.
Do you sometimes doubt the possibility of what you are doing? Are you praying for a loved one and not really expecting an answer? Are you searching for a job but not seeing the possibility? You are like Mary. And Abraham, and Sarah, and Moses, and Zechariah and…etc. The best advice I got from mentors when I asked, “How will this be?”, was stay the course. Keep doing what you are doing. It will be done because God promised. He is using us to make disciples and love our neighbor. When he says it…
So be it.
