He had sent Judah ahead of him to Joseph to show the way before him in Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen. 29 Then Joseph prepared his chariot and went up to meet Israel his father in Goshen.
You may think it strange that Judah was chosen to be an intermediary between Joseph and his father. After all, Reuben was the oldest son of Jacob. How fitting that Judah, who was the one that separated the two with his sin of selling Joseph into slavery, should be the one to represent the father and reunite the two. You may have caught the foreshadowing already. The tribe of Judah will be the line in which the Messiah, Jesus Christ, will come to go on ahead, showing the way as an intermediary between us and the Father. It is he who will lead us into the kingdom that has been prepared for us. He has restored the relationship between us and our Heavenly Father with his death on the cross. Hallelujah!
Come to Cape Community Church tomorrow and see the beauty of a restored relationship. We have come a long way from chapter 37 when the brothers, led by Judah, separated Joseph from his father. Come learn how we can be reunited with the Heavenly Father through the mediating work of Christ. We will prepare our chariot to go up to meet our Father in heaven. It is a beautiful story of redemption, reconciliation and restoration worthy of Hollywood. He makes us…
Worthy of Heaven.
