12 And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. 13 And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Every time I turn on the news, I see that someone threw shade, slammed, ripped, dropped a truth bomb on, someone. Time was, this meant that this person was mean and maladjusted. Now it is celebrated and modelled for our children who, guess what, are doing the same thing. The result is that civility and charity are a thing of the past. Jesus spoke to his disciples about the end of the age. He said in Matthew that there would be wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, and here in Mark, the worst of all, mankind would turn on its own and devour itself.
We saw a bit of this in Nazi Germany, when children turned their parents in to the authorities and pledged allegiance to Hitler as their father. It would be absurd to think that it could not happen again. In fact, the evidence suggests that the foundation is being laid for just such a scenario. Children can change their gender and the parents are powerless to do anything about it. Teenagers scream at world leaders and they fall over themselves to cater to them. Those who follow Christ will be especially vulnerable because of our unpopular stance on the absolute most important issues in life; abortion, LGBTQ and transgender rights. It is not too far to think that we may be turned in by our children because we are dangerous to society. If this is the end of the age…
Stay the course!
