And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, 4 and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. 5 And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”

I almost never remember my dreams while some are so involved in them that they wake up crying. That seems to be what happened to the Apostle John on the Isle of Patmos. He had a vision of a seal that needed opening and wept that there was no one. The search was conducted among created beings in heaven, on earth, and even, desperately, in the underworld. They were seeking for answers but were looking at the wrong source. Then the elder proclaimed the only one worthy of the task, Jesus Christ.

It seems today that people are looking for answers in all the wrong places. They search in horoscopes, or they consult mediums, psychics, and tarot card readers in their search for the meaning of life. They are seekers but they are not extremely eager to find what they are looking for. If they were, they would consult the greatest source of meaning known to man. They would look in the Bible and they would weep no more. They would see in its pages that the Lion of Judah has come as the Lamb of God. He is the only one worthy to reveal the meaning of life because he reveals the way of eternal life. Weep no more…

He has conquered.
